The City Ground defender had a lacklustre day as Sabri Lamouchi's side fell to defeat.
The Reds central defender wasn't at his best during the play which led to the Wigan goal in the 35th minute and should have cut out the cross for Jamal Lowe, who duly poked home for what turned out to be the Latics' winner.
Things didn't improve for Figueiredo and he almost gifted a second to the hosts after misjudging a long ball over the top, and as such some Forest fans made their feelings known about him on social media.
Exactly! He's done it before! Any other defender would have stuck their body out to block that! Just watched it roll by! ♂️♂️♂️♂️♂️♂️♂️♂️ #nffc— Olly Bausor (@OllyBausor) 20 October 2019
Seen this before from Figueiredo! He could have cut that cross out and just watched it roll past him, could have slid in and blocked that all day long! Bad defending from the point Worrall clatters Robinson and Watson doesnt clear... Anyway! Need improvement second half! #NFFC— Olly Bausor (@OllyBausor) 20 October 2019
Does Figueiredo still have a dead leg?! 5th choice at best— Craskey (@CraskeyNFFC) 20 October 2019

Observations from today chema over figueiredo for me to many left footers in the middle of the park and mir isn't a starter over grabban not sure if he's not good enough for the league or he just needs a goal to boost his confidence #nffc— @forest4eversteve (@biltonsteve) 20 October 2019
There’s absolutely no denying how poor Forest were today - it’s very clear. But Figueiredo should 100%, with simplicity, clear that ball in the box. And we had enough chances to score at least one...#nffc— Marcus Hogg (@MarcusHogg96) 20 October 2019
In terms of selection, I think Chema can count himself unfortunate for not being in the starting lineup today. He looked solid enough against Arsenal & when he came on at Stoke & got a lot of plaudits after the Brentford game #NFFC— Sam ⚽️ (@ForestAreMagic) 20 October 2019
Ahead of Figueiredo in the pecking order for me
Wigan also twice struck the woodwork through Charlie Mulgrew's free kick and Kal Naismith's late effort, while Rafa Mir and Lewis Grabban both missed gilt-edged opportunities for Forest as Sabri Lamouchi's side remain fourth in the Championship table.
Figueiredo, capped up to Portugal B and Under-21 level, joined the City Ground side in 2018, initially on loan in January from Sporting Lisbon before completing a permanent move for around £2million in the summer (Transfermarkt).
