Crystal Palace Under-23s may have fallen to defeat at the hands of Charlton Athletic U23s on Monday afternoon but Rob Street did claim a great team goal which the Eagles Twitter account proudly showed off.
A young Palace side weathered the early storm against an Addicks side seeking to impose themselves on the game and, just minutes after spurning a great opportunity from the penalty spot, took the lead when David Boateng's cross from the right flank was met first time by Street.
Here is the "top class team goal" in all its glory:
Charlton, however, set about trying to restore parity and did so fairly swiftly as Johl Powell's cross towards the unguarded back post was nodded home by Kareem Isiaka, then in the second half the visitors took the lead when Ben Dempsey drove into the right of Palace’s box and rifled home for what turned out to be the winner.
The result is Palace U23s' fourth consecutive defeat in all competitions and saw the young Eagles slip to eighth in the Professional Development League table (Soccerway), with a trip to Cardiff City U23s next Monday.
