Arsenal slumped to a defeat on the road tonight, as they were beaten 1-0 by Sheffield United at Bramall Lane.

The Gunners faced a tricky trip up to South Yorkshire tonight, with Chris Wilder's men proving to be tricky opposition for many teams this season.

That proved to be the case tonight, as Arsenal were made to pay for Nicolas Pepe somehow scuffing the ball with the goal at his mercy in the first half.

Arsenal couldn't deal with a corner into the box, and when Jack O'Connell won the header down, Lys Mousset was unmarked just yards out to score the only goal of the game.

Arsenal never really clicked going forward, and couldn't break past a resolute Blades back line as they claimed a famous win under the lights.

So many Arsenal players flopped on the night, but despite his miss, Pepe actually stood up as one of their shining lights.

The Ivorian winger has been slammed for his displays this season following his big-money move from Lille, and many will point to his miss as another error.

However, Arsenal fans took Twitter to hail Pepe's display, branding him 'quality' and Arsenal's best player, with supporters seeing bright moments from the winger.

Many slated boss Unai Emery for substituting him whilst he was the most dangerous player in a yellow shirt, believing the decision was 'incredible' and a sign that the Spaniard can't read the game.
