Jermaine Jenas has praised Aston Villa star Jack Grealish on Twitter for his performance against Brighton and Hove Albion.

Grealish, who can also operate as a winger or as an attacking midfielder, was the star of the show in Villa’s 2-1 win against Brighton at Villa Park in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

The 24-year-old scored for the Villans in first-half injury time and also provided the assist for Matt Targett's winner in the closing stages of the encounter.

Brighton played most of the match with just 10 men due to the dismissal of Aaron Mooy in the 35th minute.

According to WhoScored, against the Seagulls, Grealish took three shots of which two were on target, played six key passes, had a pass accuracy of 84.1%, took 87 touches, and attempted five dribbles.

So far this season, the attacking midfielder has scored two goals and provided three assists in nine Premier League appearances for Villa, according to WhoScored.

Former Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United midfielder Jenas was impressed with Grealish, while ex-West Ham United winger Trevor Sinclair has hit back at the critics of the 24-year-old.
