Rangers could only draw 1-1 away at Hearts this afternoon.
Rangers couldn't reclaim top spot from Celtic this afternoon as they only managed a 1-1 draw away at Heart of Midlothian.
The ball was in Rangers' court, as a win would send them back above their Old Firm rivals, but they couldn't claim all three points against Craig Levein's spirited Hearts side.
Hearts opened the scoring by taking advantage of an error from James Tavernier, with Ryotaro Meshino putting the hosts in front, with the Rangers right back coming in for major criticism once again.
However, Rangers did hit back before half time as Alfredo Morelos turned home from close range, ensuring the Gers went into the break level – but they couldn't find a winner.
Rangers looked off-colour and even the introduction of Ryan Kent couldn't unlock Hearts, meaning Steven Gerrard and his side head back to Glasgow with just a point.
Celtic therefore remain top of the table, and pundit Chris Sutton took to Twitter to suggest it was a 'cracking game', and celebrated Celtic remaining top of the table – something Robbie Savage sarcastically responded to shortly after.
Sutton also offered one word on Hearts striker Uche Ikpeazu, claiming that the striker Celtic want according to West London Sport was 'outstanding', having tormented Rangers defenders all day long; something Celtic may well have been watching.
