West Ham United lost 2-0 at Everton this afternoon.
West Ham United slipped to a 2-0 defeat at Everton this afternoon, meaning they’ve now lost their last two Premier League games.
The Hammers lost 2-1 at home to Crystal Palace last time out, and Manuel Pellegrini will have been hoping for a reaction after the international break.
However, his side turned in a disappointing performance at Goodison Park, and conceded in the first half as Bernard was able to weave his past two defenders before prodding past Roberto Jimenez.
Felipe Anderson was hooked at half time, but it didn’t really help, and West Ham were consigned to defeat late on as Gylfi Sigurdsson hammered home a superb long-range strike.

Pellegrini must now try and rally his side for the home game with Sheffield United next weekend, and he may need to ring the changes after today’s defeat.
One player who struggled was left back Arthur Masuaku, as he didn’t really take his chance in the absence of Aaron Cresswell, who had recently snatched his spot.
The £40,000-a-week defender (Spotrac) offers plenty going forward but often looks to be struggling defensively, and that was the case once again on Saturday.
Some called his performance ’embarrassing’ having made Theo Walcott look like Kylian Mbappe, whilst others branded him ‘awfu’ and ‘absolutely pathetic’, believing it’s now clear that Cresswell is the better left back.
Masuaku has to be in top 10 worst ever westham players #whu #westham

Masuaku couldn’t defend in league 1. Positioning for a full back some of the worse I’ve seen.

Masuaku is actually awful loool

Theo Walcott hasn’t looked this good in about a decade. The Masuaku effect.

Masuaku at fault for both goals. Awful.

I’d rather play Zaba than Masuaku

Hope that puts to bed Cresswell vs Masuaku, Cresswell is far superior

Masuaku is not a defender

Masuaku is not a defender
Masuaku is not a defender
Masuaku is not a defender
Obviously Roberto is poison and at fault for the first goal but Masuaku’s attempt at a challenge in the box was pathetic.

Masuaku was absolutely pathetic for Bernard’s goal ffs! #WHUFC #EvertonFC

Masuaku is a bad defender and he hasn’t improved since joining West Ham in 2016. No point persisting with him #whufc

– Awful performance, lucky it weren’t a lot more today
– No effort, passion or desire – we just did not want it enough
– Lanzini, Fornals and Anderson doesn’t work
– We miss the pace and directness of Antonio in games like today
– Masuaku poor the whole game#WHUFC pic.twitter.com/TNLXjkHrMs
