Kris Boyd comments on Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard

Odsonne Edouard should move to Arsenal or Manchester United after leaving Celtic, not Southampton, says Kris Boyd.

Kris Boyd has suggested in The Scottish Sun that when striker Odsonne Edouard leaves Celtic, he should aim to join Arsenal or Manchester United, not Southampton or Brighton and Hove Albion.

The former Rangers striker, who now works as a pundit for Sky Sports, rates Edouard highly, and has suggested that the Frenchman is good enough to play for Premier League giants United or Arsenal.

Boyd wrote in The Scottish Sun: “For what it’s worth, if it’s the Premier League he heads for, it should be for one of the giants, Manchester United or Arsenal, and not, with respect, to a Brighton or Southampton. But I’ve got a funny feeling he’ll have to go and prove himself first at one of those clubs.”

 

Future Premier League move

Edouard is one of the best strikers in the Scottish Premiership and is leading the line well for Celtic at the moment.

While it is hard to see the Hoops sell the 21-year-old in the January transfer window, perhaps next summer things could change.

The France Under-21 international has made great strides at Celtic, and it is only a matter of time before a club from the Premier League come calling.
