Tottenham Hotspur's Mauricio Pochettino stopped the rot this afternoon - but only just.

Spurs were minutes away from losing 1-0 to Watford in North London, but a late Dele Alli equaliser spared the hosts' blushes in what would and could've been a disaster.

Tottenham went into this afternoon after conceding 10 times in their last two games across all competitions - a 7-2 defeat by Bayern Munich, and losing 3-0 at Brighton & Hove Albion.

The Argentine is in his sixth year as Lilywhites boss and hasn't yet delivered a trophy, but he did guide them to a Champions League final in June.

Pochettino is a man under major pressure and it remains to be seen if salvaging a point at home to Watford - who lost 8-0 away at Manchester City earlier last month - is enough to ease some tension on the former Southampton boss.

But Tottenham legend Garth Crooks is certainly not happy with the under-fire manager, questioning his ability to deliver silverware.

He said on BBC's Football Focus show, broadcast 19/10: "Pochettino has got to be quite clear to his players and ask 'who hear wants to win? If you don't, go.'

"We are not even a third through the season. You go to Brighton and lose 3-0 with those players? It's a joke.

"Pochettino hasn't won anything and he [Martin Keown] says he's an outstanding manager! On what basis? He has thrown the League Cup and FA Cup away in years where he's gone for top four. I don't care who we have as long as win trophies."
