There's been a lot of fantastic games this year such as The Outer Wilds in particular, but perhaps the best RPG of the year so far is Disco Elysium. Much like Divinity Original Sin when it was first released back in 2014, the game is currently only available on PC but developer ZA/UM has given PlayStation 4 and Xbox One gamers a glimmer of hope for a port.
Disco Elysium is said to be 90-hours long and it has received massive praise for being the "most original RPG in years." While it's easy to get caught up in the hype and forget incredible titles from the past, such heavy acclaim is appropriate as it's hard to think of an equally clever detective game with as much freedom.
Its freedom and whopping amount of choices and outcomes does remind us a lot of Divinity Original Sin (although they're completely different in aesthetics and genre), and hopefully it'll come to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in the not too distant future as well.

What is Disco Elysium?
Disco Elysium was released on October 15th for Steam. Since then the game has received a lot of acclaim for being a "Dungeon & Dragons experience for your inner detective."
As for how the game actually plays, it's a detective "whodunit" adventure with bucket loads of dialogue, branching paths, unique abilities and quests.
You can pretty much choose whether you want to be a charmingly good detective or a miserable a-hole who uses intimidation to get answers.
Everything in the game happens and is solved through skill checks and dialogue responses, and the extremely clever writing and story makes it intriguing and captivating from the very beginning.
Its possible aesthetics have been criticised as perhaps "too ugly," but you don't need to enjoy being in a hostile and skin-crawling environment to appreciate clever wit and moments of comedic relief.
Is Disco Elysium coming to PS4 and Xbox One?
Disco Elysium is not available on PS4 or Xbox One.
This is a shame as it's one of the best games of the year so far (probably the best RPG) and it deserves to be enjoyed by as many people as possible.
Developer ZA/UM has mostly remained tight-lipped about releases on other platforms, but they have said that it's something they would "love" to do.
We'd love to bring the game to other platforms, but we're currently focusing on PC. Thanks!— Disco Elysium (@studioZAUM) 10 October 2019
Thanks to the critical praise it has received, it would be surprising if Disco Elysium didn't end up on PS4 and Xbox One (or their next-gen counterparts) sometime in the future similar to Divinity Original Sin 1 and 2.
THE OUTER WORLDS: Obsidian's character builder is seriously impressive!
Disco Elysium is available on Steam.
