According to The Sun, Tottenham Hotspur are planning to loan out defender Kyle Walker-Peters in January – and Crystal Palace remain interested.

Spurs allowed Kieran Trippier to leave over the summer, and with Serge Aurier struggling for playing time under Mauricio Pochettino, it looked like Walker-Peters would be given a golden chance to nail down the right back spot.

The 22-year-old started the first three games of the season, but since picking up an injury against Newcastle United almost two months ago, he’s only played once – and that was in the Carabao Cup defeat to Colchester United.

Aurier has returned to the side and Moussa Sissoko has even played at right back, whilst Juan Foyth has returned from injury and appears to be a Pochettino favourite for that role, meaning Walker-Peters may be slipping down the pecking order.

It’s now believed that Tottenham are already planning to get Walker-Peters out on loan in January, and London neighbours Crystal Palace are interested once again.

The Times reported over the summer that Spurs had made a move to sign Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Palace, offering a part-exchange deal involving fellow right back Walker-Peters, which the Eagles didn’t bite on.

Palace did end up selling Wan-Bissaka to Manchester United for £50million, but didn’t really replace him, which is exactly why Roy Hodgson’s men are now looking at Walker-Peters.

Spurs would have certainly preferred to have got that swap deal done, but if Palace come in and offer Premier League playing time to their young right back, they should still send him to Selhurst Park.
