Arsenal are reportedly keen on Olympiacos ace Daniel Podence.

According to Sportime in Greece, Arsenal are interested in snapping up Olympiacos star Daniel Podence – but face competition from an unknown English club.

Podence, 23, chose to leave Sporting in 2018 as he terminated his contract with the club, eventually heading to Olympiacos as his next move.

The 5ft 4in winger hit eight goals last season, and he tormented Tottenham Hotspur with his pace in their Champions League meeting last season, even scoring against the North London side.

Now, Tottenham’s bitter rivals Arsenal are thought to be keen on Podence, seemingly having been impressed with how he performed against their neighbours.

It’s claimed that Olympiacos want €25million (£21.5million) for Podence, and agent Jorge Mendes may well have a host of clubs asking about the Portuguese speedster.

The report notes that Sevilla are also keen on Podence, but so are another mystery English club, meaning Arsenal will need to get in quickly if they want him.

Olympiacos could make a huge profit on the diminutive attacker in 2020, with teams seemingly queuing up to take him – and Tottenham may well hope that he doesn’t end up at Arsenal given how they struggled to handle him last month.
