Newcastle United’s Matty Longstaff made his Premier League debut two weekends’ ago and made a huge impact.

Newcastle United fans generally appear to believe that Steve Bruce is making the right decision by sticking by Matty Longstaff.

Longstaff scored on his Premier League debut, as Newcastle beat Manchester United two weekends’ ago.

The 19-year-old is still trying to establish himself in Newcastle’s team, and there have been some question marks over whether Bruce will turn to one of his more experienced options against Chelsea on Saturday.

However, the Northern Echo suggest that Longstaff is set to start alongside his brother, Sean, in Newcastle’s midfield at Stamford Bridge.

And most Newcastle fans have backed Bruce’s reported decision to stick by the teenager.

Newcastle’s win over United in their last outing has lifted spirits, but they face a hugely difficult challenge this weekend.

Chelsea have been in good form of late, and go into Saturday’s game as heavy favourites.

But if Newcastle can get another positive result it would really help to silence the doubters of Bruce.
