If you had told Liverpool they would miss Alisson for nearly all of the first eight league games...

If you had told Liverpool that Salah, Mane and Firmino would show no signs of tiredness from Copa America and AFCON tournaments...

If you had told Liverpool that Naby Keita wouldn't play a single Premier League minute...

If you had told Liverpool that Manchester City would spend £70 million on a new midfielder to try and make them even better...

If you had told Liverpool that Divock Origi would have just one Premier League goal so far...

If you had told Liverpool they would keep only two clean sheets in eight Premier League games...

If you had told Liverpool they would be top with a 100 per cent record after eight games despite all of this, most fans would have said 'you are kidding!'

Instead the Reds are in a dream scenario, and from an Anfield perspective, it doesn't get much better.

Considering the imperfect circumstances over the past few weeks, the success enjoyed by Jurgen Klopp's side is even more stupendous, and they deserve their eight point lead at the top.
