The Liverpool centre-back has returned to full training.
Joel Matip has returned to full training for Liverpool ahead of this weekend’s clash with bitter rivals Manchester United.
The Cameroon international has missed the Reds’ last two Premier League games as Jurgen Klopp’s side extended their lead at the summit.
Liverpool, who have an eight-point lead over second-placed Manchester City, visit Old Trafford on Sunday and the big centre-back looks like he might be fit.
Matip has arguably been Klopp’s most impressive performer this season, perhaps even overshadowing the monstrous Virgil van Dijk.
And suffice to say that Liverpool fans are buzzing after he was spotted training in Melwood this afternoon. Here’s how they reacted:

Such is Klopp’s strength in depth, the German manager could’ve paired Van Dijk with one of Dejan Lovren – brilliant against Leicester City last time around – or Joe Gomez if Matip was absent.
Having one solid central defender isn’t a luxury that many teams have, but when you have options like Lovren and Gomez in reserve then it speaks volumes for the squad strength.
The Merseyside giants are 15 points clear of the Red Devils, languishing back in 12th.
