Ex Chile star praises Leeds United manager.

Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa is a manager who leaves an impression wherever he goes.

And long after his Leeds spell ends, his impact will be felt by supporters and the staff and players who worked with him.

That is evidenced by comments from Chile international Fabian Orellana.

Orellana, 33, currently plays for Spanish side Eibar and made his Chile debut under Bielsa’s management back in 2007.

He spoke to Chilean outlet BBCL Deportes this week about his career and had big praise for the Leeds boss.

Orellana said: “He is a coach who knows a lot and has done very well for Chilean football.

“He is the best coach I’ve ever had and it’s hard to have a better one than him. He has been like a father to me.

“He helps you a lot to grow as a footballer. He teaches you, he talks to you, he corrects you and when you do well he congratulates you.”

Orellana is still a regular for Chile, featuring at the weekend against Colombia.

He was part of Chile’s 2016 Copa America winning team under Juan Antonio Pizzi, but despite that success, Bielsa remains his number one.

The same may be the case for his Leeds team, whatever the players achieve in their careers, at or with the Whites.
