According to The Glasgow Evening Times, Celtic are interested in bringing the Kenya international back to Celtic Park in the January transfer window.
The 28-year-old was on the books of the Hoops from 2011 until 2013 before moving to Southampton in the Premier League.
Lennon told The Scottish Sun last month that he was interested in securing the services of Wanyama in the summer transfer window.
The Kenyan has said that he is now focused on winning back his place in the Tottenham starting lineup, suggesting that he may not be looking to move back to Celtic in the middle of the season.
Wanyama told Goal.com: "Of course I was unsettled with the transfer news because it was coming in the news every day.
“What happened in the transfer window is passed me now and my main focus is to train as hard as I can to make sure I regain my position in the team.
“I don’t think it is difficult to win my position back, I just need to push myself even harder and keep working hard in training to achieve the same and I know it will happen soon.”
During the 2018-19 campaign, the Kenya international defensive midfielder made four starts and nine substitute appearances in the league for Spurs, and made four stats and two substitute appearances in the Champions League for the North London outfit, according to WhoScored.
