Celtic-linked Uche Ikpeazu set to face Rangers this weekend

Uche Ikpeazu of Hearts looks on prior to the Scottish Ladbrokes Premiership match between Rangers and Hearts at Ibrox Stadium on October 7, 2018 in Glasgow, Scotland.

The reported Celtic target could potentially dent Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers' title bid this weekend.

If Celtic are genuinely interested in Uche Ikpeazu, he could go a long way toward justifying the speculation this weekend by taking points off Rangers.

According to West London Sport, the burly striker is wanted by the Hoops and, on Sunday, he finds himself in a unique position of denting their Old Firm rivals' title bid.

Rangers visit Hearts on Sunday afternoon and if Ikpeazu can find it within himself to have a good game then surely Celtic's reported interest could increase a tad.

It's worth pointing out that the likelyhood of him hurting Steven Gerrard's side is slim, however.

Since the beginning of last season, the English marksman has netted only five Premiership goals for the Jambos, meaning that despite his 6'3 frame, he may not be a huge problem for the Ibrox side's centre-backs.

Rangers are two points ahead of Celtic in the Scottish Premiership title race, as things stand.

Fans of the Parkhead club already aren't sold on the idea of signing the 24-year-old, but they might come around quickly enough if he scores or plays a role in Craig Levein's side beating the Blues.
