Arsenal's Alexandre Lacazette raves about 'little brother' Matteo Gundouzi

Arsenal's Alexandre Lacazette claims that Matteo Guendouzi wants to be one of the best players in the world his position.

Alexandre Lacazette spoke to Arsenal's official website about his teammate and compatriot Matteo Guendouzi's performances last month.

Guendouzi rose to fame last season as a teenager and has gone from strength to strength since joining the Gunners in the summer of 2018. The Frenchman had a phenomenal September for Arsenal in all competitions and he was voted as the club's player of the month for his performances. 

Lacazette, the other Frenchman in the Gunners' squad, was asked about Guendouzi and his relationship with him and Aubameyang.

 

He said: "He is like the younger brother. We all really have a good relationship, we like to work and to laugh together so it’s really good.

"I’m really happy for Matteo. He played really well, he helped the team when we needed him, he is really improving each season so we are all really happy with his performances this month."

Guendouzi's performances even earned him his first senior call-up for France last month and there is no doubt that he will be a big player in the future for Les Blues. Lacazette was asked about the youngster's personal ambitions and the striker claimed that he wants to be one of the best midfielders in the world in the coming years.

"Matteo has a good ambition, he wants to be one of the best players in his position so every day he is trying to be the best and this month he showed that he can be," Lacazette said.

Guendouzi picked up the award ahead of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang who scored five goals in four league games in September. The Gabonese striker picked up the Premier League player of the month award for his performances which shows how highly Arsenal fans rate Guendouzi to have voted for him ahead of their top scorer.
