Liverpool defender Andy Robertson, Aston Villa coach John Terry, and club legend Ian Taylor have congratulated John McGinn after he netted a hat-trick for Scotland on Sunday.
Steve Clarke's side thrashed minnows San Marino 6-0, with Villa midfielder, McGinn starting the match, alongside Liverpool's Robertson, who was captain and helped secure a clean sheet.
All three of McGinn's goals came in the first half, as Scotland recorded a much-needed win after a number of difficult results and performances on the international stage.
During and after the game, Robertson, Terry and Taylor sent these messages from their personal Instagram and Twitter accounts, as they were clearly ecstatic with McGinn's display:
McGinn has started off the new season in superb fashion as he has taken life to Premier League like a duck to water.
He will be glad that he has now been able to take his club form onto the international stage, but he will be well aware that there are much tougher tests to come.
Scotland know that they are heading into the playoffs, but they want to build momentum in their quest to end reach the European Championships next summer.
If that is to happen then players like Robertson and McGinn will be crucial to their success because they are their standout players.
