Tottenham’s Davinson Sanchez was in action for Colombia on Saturday.

Tottenham Hotspur fans may not be able to see their side in action this weekend, but many of their players are in action over the course of the international break.

Spurs went into the international break off the back of a 3-0 defeat at Brighton and Hove Albion, meaning their players needed to go and find form with their countries.

That didn’t quite happen for Harry Kane against the Czech Republic on Friday night, but Christian Eriksen has shown some promise with Denmark after a mixed season so far.

On Saturday, defender Davinson Sanchez was in action for Colombia, as they took on South American rivals Chile in Spain.

The game was played in Alicante, but the Spanish crowd weren’t treated to any goals as the game ended in a 0-0 stalemate.

That will be great for Sanchez though, as the 23-year-old has endured a difficult start to the season, seemingly short of confidence and form.

Tottenham tweeted about Sanchez’s clean sheet, and believe it’s now time for Spurs to put their trust in the former Ajax man after a rocky opening to the campaign.

There’s a belief that Sanchez should be starting now, even alongside Japhet Tanganga, with others joking that it’s just nice for a Spurs player to experience a clean sheet.
