Arsenal are interested in signing Joey Dawson from Scunthorpe United in the January transfer window, according to The Sun.

It has been reported that the Gunners are keen on securing the services of the 16-year-old record-breaking midfielder.

According to the report, the teenager - who is the nephew of of former Tottenham Hotspur defender Michael Dawson - became the youngest ever first-team player in the League Two club’s history in August.

One for the future

Dawson is a very talented and promising young player who can be a star in the coming years.

It is clear that the 16-year-old is not ready for the Arsenal first team yet, and that the Gunners are looking at him for the future.

Arsenal move or Scunthorpe United stay?

While moving to Arsenal will be very tempting for Dawson, perhaps the youngster should stay at Scunthorpe for now.

At this stage, the 16-year-old needs to develop and add more facets to his game, and he should be at the club where he is going to learn the most.
