Celtic have been strangely linked with Uche Ikpeazu.

Celtic already have three strikers right now, but Neil Lennon is being linked with a move to bring another forward to Parkhead.

Odsonne Edouard has been in superb form this season, whilst Leigh Griffiths offers real experience and Vakoun Issouf Bayo is something of a wildcard.

Celtic could yet look to bring in a real target man, and West London Sport suggested on Thursday that the Bhoys are keen on Hearts ace Uche Ikpeazu.

Bristol City, Derby County, Queens Park Rangers and Wigan Athletic are all allegedly interested in signing the powerhouse forward in January too, meaning there’s a real battle emerging.

Ikpeazu, 24, left Cambridge United for a move to Hearts in 2018, and he hit eight goals and five assists in 26 appearances last season.

A real physical brute of a forward, Ikpeazu may not be pretty on the eye or the most technically-gifted forward, but he can be a pain for defenders to deal with given his impressive strength.

It’s still something of a surprise to see him linked with Celtic though, as it’s hard to see him fitting into this current Bhoys side, and that has been pointed out by some fans.

Some feel that his ugly nature wouldn’t fly with Celtic, as he would be penalised for fouls all the time, which he currently gets away with at Hearts, believing that he would be ‘a waste’ in a team that plays the ball on the deck, even feeling that he wouldn’t get a game for Celtic’s reserves.
