Leeds United fans will have loved seeing Josh Warrington’s victory last night.

With the international break upon us once again, fans have been turning their attentions elsewhere – and Leeds United supporters focused on boxing.

Leeds-born and Leeds United-mad Josh Warrington was in action on Saturday night, defending his IBF featherweight title in Leeds at the First Direct Arena.

Frenchman Sofiane Tachoukt was his opponent this time, with Warrington looking to avoid the end of his unbeaten streak, which stood at 29-0 before last night’s bout.

Warrington made it 30-0 in convincing fashion, beating Tachoukt in the second round via technical knockout, successfully defending his title in the process.

Of course, the city of Leeds was buzzing with Warrington’s latest hometown victory, and he’ll be receiving messages from so many people connected with Leeds over the coming hours.

He even received a message from Leeds United owner Andrea Radrizzani, who made sure that Warrington got some congratulations from the Whites.

Radrizzani tweeted a photo of Warrington winning the fight, and told him that the whole of Leeds is proud of him having again done the city proud with a great victory.
