Liverpool’s Legends beat Rangers Legends on Saturday afternoon, with a number of big-name players featuring.
Alan Hutton made a return to Ibrox on Saturday afternoon when he played for Rangers Legends during their 3-2 defeat to Liverpool’s Legends.
Right-back Hutton, who is currently a free agent, stated on Instagram ‘what a day, felt at home’, as a number of big-name stars appeared for both teams.
Rangers manager Steven Gerrard first donned the colours of his boyhood club, Liverpool, before he was substituted and then emerged once again stripped in the colours of Rangers.
Rangers were managed by club legend Alex McLeish, whilst striker hero Ian Rush was walking the touchline for Liverpool, who had the likes of Jamie Carragher, Patrick Berger and Dirk Kuyt representing them.
Nonetheless, after the game, Hutton sent this message from his personal Instagram account, which the Rangers faithful will absolutely love.
All five goals were scored in the first half with Luis Garcia, Berger and in the end Emile Heskey’s chip being the decisive goal in the game.
The goals from Rangers came from recently retired striker Kris Boyd and Peter Lovenkrands – Boyd did miss a penalty during the game.
Nonetheless, Hutton played in the match, as he was clearly delighted to get back on the Ibrox turf once again and represent his boyhood club.
He may well be returning to a pitch somewhere in England or Scotland again this season because since leaving Aston Villa in the summer, he is yet to hang up his boots.
