Celtic forward Odsonne Edouard can be better than Moussa Dembele, says Barry Ferguson.
Dembele was on the books of Celtic from the summer of 2016 until the summer of 2018 when he moved to French club Lyon for a transfer fee reported by BBC Sport to be worth £19.7 million.
The 23-year-old striker was superb during his spell at the Hoops and is now valued at €70m (£61.06m) by the CIES Football Observatory.
Former Rangers star Ferguson has suggested that 21-year-old forward Odsonne has the potential to be better than French compatriot Dembele.
“Obviously going away with the French U-21s he seems to score every time he plays with them. I think in time if he keeps progressing the way he is, I think he will be better than (Moussa) Dembele.
“And I think Celtic will find it hard to fend off a few bids. I think some big clubs will be looking at him. I think he has got a lot of great attributes and he’s at a great age and has a lot to learn.”
Edouard is a very talented and promising young forward who has developed and progressed well at Celtic.
The Frenchman scores goals regularly and also steps up in the big games, such as in the Old Firm derbies against Rangers.
According to The Scottish Sun, Edouard has scored 42 goals in 98 appearances for Celtic.
Celtic are aiming to win the Scottish Premiership title this season, as well as progress to the knockout round of the Europa League.
