Dani Ceballos joined Arsenal on loan from Real Madrid in the summer transfer window.
The 23-year-old attacking midfielder joined Premier League club Arsenal on loan from Spanish and European giants Madrid in the summer transfer window.
The Spain international recently told The Mirror that he wants to be at the Gunners and is not sorry for not being at Madrid at the moment.
The youngster has now clarified those comments, and has stated that his goal is to be a success at Los Blancos.
Ceballos told Marca: “My words were misunderstood. When I do not play, I don't enjoy myself. I have learnt a lot in these two years at Real Madrid, but now I am enjoying [my football].”
The midfielder added: “I never thought of leaving permanently. My goal is to succeed at Real Madrid. I'm going to fight to fulfil my dream."
Future at Real Madrid
Ceballos has done well for Arsenal so far this season, and his importance in Unai Emery’s side will only grow in the coming weeks and months.
However, the future of the 23-year-old lies at Madrid despite him not having had a lot of chances since he moved to the European giants in 2017.
According to WhoScored, Ceballos - who is valued at €70 million (£61.06m) by the CIES Football Observatory - has scored one goal in two Europa League appearances, and has provided two assists in eight Premier League matches for Arsenal so far this season.
