Tottenham Hotspur fans think that Lucas Moura has ‘ruined’ Matthijs De Ligt, after the Holland defender struggled again last night.

Lucas famously scored a hat-trick for Spurs in the Champions League semi-final, as they pulled off one of the most remarkable comebacks ever seen in the competition against Ajax.

De Ligt was part of the Ajax defence that evening, and ever since errors have started to creep into his game.

The young defender is still regarded as one of the most exciting prospects in world football.

However, De Ligt’s form has not been as strong since he faced Tottenham.

The £67.5 million (BBC Sport) Juventus defender once again made a mistake as Northern Ireland gave Holland a huge scare in Euro 2020 qualifying.

Northern Ireland took the lead with 10 minutes to go in the contest, and although Holland did manage to come back, Spurs fans still think that Lucas has shattered De Ligt’s confidence now.

Holland's win over Northern Ireland has boosted their chances of qualifying for Euro 2020 hugely now, with Michail O'Neill's side now facing a huge challenge to finish in the top two.
