Premier League outfit Wolverhampton Wanderers could welcome German midfielder Eisenhuth to Molineux in January.

Wolverhampton Wanderers are interested in signing Energie Cottbus midfielder Tobias Eisenhuth, according to Liga Drei, with Jorge Mendes counting the German among his extensive list of clients.

It is no secret that super-agent Mendes has played a major role in Wolves’ rise from the bottom half of the Championship to the top half of the Premier League. Ruben Neves, Joao Moutinho, Ruo Patricio, Helder Costa and Ruben Vinagre were all brought to Molineux by the influential Portuguese after all.

And reports from Germany suggest that yet another Mendes client could be on his way to the Black Country before long.

Eisenhuth, a defensive midfielder who is also equally comfortable at centre-half, has impressed at lower league Cottbus with clubs in England and Germany taking an interest. Liga Drei claim that Holstein Kiel are keen, as are Bundesliga strugglers Paderborn.

But given Wolves’ links with Mendes, a move to the Premier League could be more likely for a player who appears to be improving all the time.

Eisenhuth is likely to be ‘one for the future’ rather than someone capable of immediately challenging Neves and Moutinho for a place in the team but, as Pedro Neto, Bruno Jordao, Leander Dendoncker and co will attest, Wolves coach Nuno Espirito Santo is never afraid to give youth a chance.
