Tottenham Hotspur’s Dele Alli and Manchester United’s Jesse Lingard are not playing well at the moment.

Chris Waddle has suggested in The Racing Post that Tottenham Hotspur star Dele Alli and Manchester United ace Jesse Lingard have been worked out by opposition coaches.

The former Tottenham star believes that 26-year-old England international Lingard – who can operate as an attacking midfielder or as a winger – needs to work on his game.

Waddle has also suggested that 23-year-old England international midfielder Alli is on the same boat as Lingard.

Waddle wrote in The Racing Post: “Dele Alli has wonderful ability but I just think he has been worked out by opposing coaches.

“The same goes for Jesse Lingard. It’s time for him to look at his game and work at it on the training ground – it can take as little as 20 minutes per day – and develop a new approach.”

Need to improve

Alli is one of the best young midfielders in Europe, and the 23-year-old has huge potential and can be a huge success in the future.

The midfielder has lost his place in the Tottenham team, and it is clear that the England international needs to step up his game and improve in the coming weeks and months.

As for Lingard, he is 26 years of years and is not really young in footballing terms, and the attacker – who is valued at €50 million (£44m) by the CIES Football Observatory – needs to work very hard in training and develop his game further.
