West Ham youngster is enjoying a promising start to the season.

West Ham youngster Dan Kemp starred this week for the club’s under-21 side in a narrow EFL Trophy defeat.

Kemp scored twice for West Ham as they lost 4-3 to Cheltenham Town.

The Hammers were undone by three second half goals after both of their starting centre-backs had gone off injured.

Kemp, 20, sent a message to West Ham supporters yesterday expressing his delight at getting on the scoresheet.

Kemp now has five goals in seven appearances for West Ham’s academy this season.

He also has another two assists to his name.

On Tuesday night it was Nathan Holland providing the assists. He set up all three of West Ham’s goals, with Bernardo Rosa netting the third.

If the first team need reinforcements, the form of both Holland and Kemp puts them in the discussion.
