Jose Mourinho is reportedly interested in the Tottenham Hotspur job.
Jose Mourinho is holding out for the Tottenham Hotspur job, according to a report in The Mail.
The former Real Madrid boss has been out of work since being fired by Manchester United last December.
Mauricio Pochettino, once touted to replace Mourinho, is in a tricky spell at Spurs and there is a remote possibility he either walks away or Spurs swing the axe if their bad form gets out of control.
Pochettino has helped the career of Spurs midfielder Moussa Sissoko, but if he is removed from his post, then Sissoko would likely be happy with Mourinho as a replacement.
This is because Sissoko has previously stated he would love the opportunity to work under the former Inter boss.
Speaking while Mourinho was managing Chelsea in 2015 and he was playing at Newcastle, Sissoko told ESPN: "He's one of the best coaches in the world.
"He has won so many trophies. Any player would like to be coached by him.
"For the moment, I'm coached by other people. If I had the chance to play under him one day, I would be very happy."
Whether the feeling is mutual is unclear, but Sissoko would not likely cause Mourinho a similar clash of personalities as his international teammate Paul Pogba,
For now it is up to Sissoko to give his all and help Tottenham climb up the Premier League table.
If he can show his best form, then Tottenham will start winning again, and Mourinho will have to wait, and start looking for another alternative.
