Stendel is among the favourites to be Sunderland's next boss after leaving Barnsley.

The Sunderland linked manager Daniel Stendel showed on Wednesday exactly why he is still so popular with fans of his former club, Barnsley.
Stendel left his position as Barnsley boss on Tuesday morning, despite having led the Tykes to promotion in his solitary full season in South Yorkshire.
But rather than pack up his things and return to his native Germany, the 45-year-old instead spent the following night on the p*** with the Barnsley faithful.
Photo and video footage of Stendel sipping bottles of beer and knocking back shots has since emerged online.

And some Sunderland supporters believe he would fit right in at their club.
This is what they are saying on Twitter about the man with whom The Chronicle claims the Mackems have already made contact...
Will be Sunderland manager by Monday hopefully.

Sunderland announced Jack Ross's sacking just hours after Stendel became available.
But a number of others, including Paul Cook, Gareth Ainsworth and Kevin Phillips, have also been linked with the Stadium of Light vacancy.
