Neil Lennon’s Celtic, Queens Park Rangers and Derby County are among the clubs reportedly interested in Uche Ikpeazu.

Celtic are interested in signing Uche Ikpeazu from Heart of Midlothian in the January transfer window, according to West London Sport.

The report has also claimed of interest in the Hearts forward from Queens Park Rangers in the Championship in England.

Interestingly, current QPR manager Mark Warburton is a former boss of Celtic’s bitter Old Firm rivals Rangers.

The report in West London Sport has further stated that Wigan Athletic, Bristol City and Derby County have scouted the 24-year-old this year.

Underwhelming signing for Celtic?

Ikpeazu is a decent forward, but the former Reading prospect is not at the level of Celtic yet.

The 24-year-old has scored just 10 goals for Hearts since joining the Scottish Premiership club on a free transfer in 2018, according to West London Sport.

True, the forward has his qualities and can be a problem for the opposition defence, but he is simply not prolific enough to play week in and week out for Neil Lennon’s Celtic, or even be on the substitutes’ bench.
