McGregor, who has played 15 times for his country so far in his career, hopes that he breaks his duck in his 16th match just like the 24-year-old former St. Mirren and Hibernian star.
McGregor told The Scottish Sun: “John McGinn scored on his 16th cap so hopefully that’s a good omen. Probably the only piece of the jigsaw missing for me now is to get a goal for Scotland.
“I’ve scored in every competition at every level I could have. So that is the next one for me to tick off on the list.”
Important player for Scotland
McGregor is one of the best midfielders in the Scottish Premiership, and the 26-year-old can still get better and improve.
The midfielder has not always been at his best for Scotland, and he needs to step up his game for the national team, and perhaps a goal will help him.
Scotland will face Russia in the Euro 2020 qualifiers on Thursday evening.
