Morten Spencer arrived at Leeds United earlier this year, despite being linked with Premier League clubs.
Despite having caps for England at under-15 level, the Leeds United midfielder Morten Spencer could play against the Three Lions for Norway’s equivalent age group later this month.
Spencer arrived at Leeds from Sunderland earlier this year, despite reports that Manchester City were among the clubs interested in signing him.
Speaking to The Teesside Gazette in 2018, the youngster’s Norwegian mother claimed to have heard ‘nothing back’ from her country’s Football Association after sending them video footage of his talent.
But they have finally taken note – including Spencer in their 19-man squad to face England at St George’s Park on 25 October.
And the Teessider posted the following message on Twitter after learning of his call up:
Buzzed to get called up for norway at the end of the month! pic.twitter.com/ErpVbVL0CU— morten spencer (@mortenspencer1) October 10, 2019
Spencer, who doesn’t turn 16 until March 2020, has already played for Leeds U18s this season.
He will remain eligible for both England and Norway until he appears in a competitive senior fixture.
