Orta has overseen Leeds United's recruitment since 2017.
Victor Orta has explained how difficult he has found keeping potential Leeds United transfer targets under wraps.
The Leeds director of football has overseen the club's recruitment since 2017 - although speaking to the Training Ground Guru podcast this week he insisted that all deals are ultimately made in consultation with the manager at the time.
Winger Hakon Evjen has played more than 40 times for Bodø/Glimt, and has scored or assisted 18 goals for the team currently second in the Norwegian top flight.
But according to Orta, Leeds were lurking right at the very start.
"We went to watch a winger in Bodø/Glimt, Evjen," he explained to Training Ground Guru. "It was the third time that he is in the line-up - 16 years old. And when we arrived there were 15 scouts from all the big clubs. Then he is going to Holland. This is the (amount of available) information now."
Evjen would not be the first Norwegian youngster to have caught the eye during Orta's Leeds reign, with Niklas Haugland having arrived at Elland Road from Fana IL in August 2018.
The forward, who made his debut for Leeds Under-23s at the start of this season, had previously trialled with Bayern Munich, AC Milan and Red Bull Salzburg.
