Jose Mourinho reported wants a move to Tottenham Hotspur.
Tottenham Hotspur have endured a difficult start to the new season, putting boss Mauricio Pochetitno under some pressure.
The 3-0 defeat at Brighton and Hove Albion was just the latest in a growing line of disappointments, especially as it came just days after a 7-0 hammering at the hands of Bayern Munich.
A home defeat to Newcastle United and Carabao Cup exit to Colchester United were other shock results for Spurs, who haven’t found any fluency or consistency this term.
Pochettino doesn’t appear to be under any immediate risk of being sacked, but some are starting to wonder whether he could leave the club in the summer of 2020.
Managers are already being linked with the post, from Jurgen Klinsmann and Gareth Southgate to Eddie Howe, but the biggest name yet has now been touted for the role in Jose Mourinho.
Mourinho has been out of football since departing Manchester United in December 2018, and he will no doubt be hoping for a return to the Premier League.
The Daily Mail claim that Mourinho has his eyes on the Tottenham job, seemingly feeling they’re the right project for him to return to management to, most likely at the end of the season if it was ever going to happen.
That rumour has unsurprisingly sparked a reaction on Twitter, with some Spurs fans feeling that he’s the kind of winner that Tottenham need if Pochettino ends up moving on.
Others think Mourinho and Daniel Levy together would be a complete nightmare, and vowed that the day Mourinho arrives at Tottenham is the day they stop supporting the club, with some strong reactions to what appears an unlikely rumour.
No, No, No…. This cannot happen and will not happen. We already have one of the best coaches in Europe. Back the manager, trust the manager, and give Poch the time he needs.— Alan (@alanbrown0411) October 9, 2019
1000% just what we need.— Samuel (@Iron14Lion) October 9, 2019
Jose can ‘Mourinho’ us. As in stay for a max three years, get the show back on the road, attract some megastars and win at least one trophy.
The once he inevitably gets sacked, Eddie Howe will be ready for the big time
This can’t possibly the solution to what ails us. He is toxic un-enjoyable manager whatever the results— JeffKBS (@JeffKBS) October 9, 2019
Poch all day long but, if we were to get rid of Poch I’d take Mourinho. With Daniel Levy in charge though we would replace Poch with someone like Southgate or Eddie Howe— Fantasy football – The special one (@FpLspecialone) October 9, 2019
If he was in charge the last 5 and a half years, how many trophies would we have win, or is it all about getting into the top 4 now, I take him in a heartbeat— James (@James06878473) October 9, 2019
No , we can’t have him as manager. The man is so toxic he just ruins clubs. Troy parrot and all of our youth will essentially have no chance. Having him as manager is not Tottenham.— Thomas Narramore (@ThomasNarramore) October 9, 2019

the day Mourinho is allowed to coach and manage my club is the day I will fall out of love with my club.— sabina nardell (@lillun6) October 9, 2019
Dear lord no imagine Mourinho & Levy that’s a disaster waiting to happen https://t.co/F1JK7uWvuL— Elena Nicola (@ElenaNicolaTHFC) October 9, 2019
