Despite producing a number of indifferent performances, Tottenham Hotspur still secured a top-four finish last season and reached the Champions League final.

Tottenham fans on Twitter have blasted Ray Parlour after he seemingly implied that Leicester City are a bigger club than the North London club.

The discussion started around Mauricio Pochettino and Brendan Rodgers, before Parlour and TalkSport pundit Alan Brazil discussed who is the bigger club between Spurs and the Foxes.

Whilst Parlour admitted to TalkSport, as posted on their official Twitter account, that Spurs, from a revenue perspective, are big, he then pointed out that Leicester have won the Premier League title and Spurs haven’t.

His comments didn’t go down well with the Tottenham fans who reminded the Arsenal legend that football did exist before 1992.

In recent seasons, Pochettino has guided Spurs to a Champions League finish on a number of occasions and last June he saw them reach the Champions League final, only for them to get beaten by Liverpool.

Nonetheless, Spurs could potentially face a European battle with Rodgers side this season because they are currently sitting in third place and are being tipped to finish in the top-six.

Last month, Rodgers guided the Midlands outfit to a narrow win against Pochettino’s side, who have produced a number of horror results since then.

Here is a selection of Tottenham fans reacting to Parlour’s comments:
