Matheus Pereia has produced four Championship assists since joining Slaven Bilic’s West Bromwich Albion from Sporting Lisbon.

Matheus Pereira has already agreed personal terms ahead of a permanent move to West Bromwich Albion in January, according to the Birmingham Mail, with the Sporting Lisbon loanee expected to cost £8.25 million.

Anyone who watched the Brazilian in action for Nurnburg last season will not be surprised by the impact he has made at the Hawthorns. Pereira shone, even in a relegated side, and drew comparisons with Liverpool star Mo Salah after scoring with a brilliant curling effort against Bayern Munich in the spring.

The 23-year-old has played largely through the middle since joining West Brom on another loan spell, as opposed to the wider role he occupied during his time in Germany, with Pereira’s ability to produce something out of nothing making him a key player under Slaven Bilic already.

In six starts, the Belo Horizonte-born forward, has four assists and two goals to his name. It is no surprise, then, that West Brom want to tie him down at the earliest opportunity with the Express and Star claiming that they have an option to sign Pereira permanently for £8.25 million.

That ‘option’ will become an ‘obligation’ if The Baggies are promoted to the Premier League.

The Birmingham Mail believes that personal terms have been agreed already ahead of January and it seems only a matter of time before everything is signed and sealed.
