The Wolverhampton Wanderers academy youngster continues to impress for the Molineux U23s.

A number of Wolverhampton Wanderers fans have taken to Twitter to praise Benny Ashley Seal’s efforts as Wolves U23s began their Premier League Cup campaign with a 2-1 victory away at their Derby County U23s counterparts on Monday night.

The 20-year-old continued his prolific form for the Molineux youngsters by opening the scoring with the first attempt on goal for either side in the 11th minute at Pride Park, heading beyond Rams keeper Henrich Ravas from Elliott Watt’s corner.

Wolves, managed on the night by Mark Kennedy after Rob Edwards’ departure, doubled their lead six minutes before the break as Watt’s free kick into the box was headed across goal by Dan Csoka and bundled home from point-blank range Ashley-Seal.

Derby did find an equaliser through Mason Bennett and threatened for much of the second half but in the end Wolves held firm and secured victory.

The Wolves youngster now has six goals in his last four games and a number of Molineux faithful praised his efforts on social media mid-game and post-match:

Ashley-Seal, who was previously on the books of Norwich City and on the radar of Chelsea and Leicester City (Birmingham Mail), penned a new Wolves deal in January until the end of the 2021-22 campaign, as confirmed by the official club site.
