A number of West Bromwich Albion fans have taken to Twitter to comment on the news that Matheus Pereira has been named in the EFL's Team of the Week.

The 23-year-old was sensational once again for the Baggies in Saturday's 4-2 win over Cardiff City, which saw Slaven Bilic's side climb to the top of the Championship table.

Pereira was unplayable as the opposition often struggled to get the ball off him and he scored with a superb 25-yard strike after playing a neat one-two with Grady Diangana.

The Brazilian also contributed assists for the goals scored by West Brom's Charlie Austin and Romaine Sawyers, testament to his vision and footballing brain.

As a result, he made the EFL's Team of the Week, which brings together the best XI in the Championship, League One and League Two.

Pereira, who spent last year in the Bundesliga with Nurnberg on loan from Sporting Lisbon, was one of West Brom's main summer targets, with talks having gone on for weeks before a breakthrough was made just before the transfer deadline, as confirmed by Luke Dowling (official website).
