Tottenham Hotspur defender Toby Alderweireld has faced criticism over his performances so far this season.
Tottenham Hotspur fans have slammed Toby Alderweireld on Twitter, after his latest post.
Every comment Alderweireld made on Twitter was once greeted with Spurs fans begging him to sign a new deal.
However, the £80,000-a-week (Spotrac) Belgian defender’s poor performances this term have seen him criticised by Spurs supporters.
And when Alderweireld posted that he was looking forward to the international break with Belgium, it was clear to see the anger from Spurs fans.
Hope you don’t let them down the way your letting spurs down hope you sleep well— Dave (@Dave00643836) October 7, 2019
Do you think you will put in a tackle for them or just stand and wave your hands in the air like you been doing for us— yid (@yidoo90) October 7, 2019

I don’t mind being rude to you.
It’s not as if you’re very defensive these days.
Loved your comitnent against Brighton, the way you rallied the team after the first, second and third goals was outstanding.— Jason Tyrrell (@J_T70) October 7, 2019
Surprised you got a call up. You’ve been terrible. The whole defence and goalkeeper have been terrible and the closing down from the midfield has been laughable. Belgium must have some truly terrible back up if you and jan have been selected. Wow.— RAmeur (@reedam1980) October 7, 2019
Toby the time has come for you to leave spurs now your legs have gone & both you & verts looked dreadful when that young lad ran at you on sat just embarrassing to watch— Gary Tutt (@tutt_gary) October 7, 2019
Be gone already. You’re miles behind.— Yossel (@odaat772) October 7, 2019
Don’t sign the contract. Just go.— RAmeur (@reedam1980) October 7, 2019
Alderweireld still hasn’t signed a new contract with Tottenham and there are now questions over his commitment.
The 30-year-old has not looked his reliable self in Tottenham’s defence, and his performance against Brighton & Hove Albion was woeful.
Spurs fans were looking for a reaction from their side after a humbling defeat to Bayern Munich in the Champions League, but it was not forthcoming, as Mauricio Pochettino’s side were beaten 3-0 on the south coast.
Alderweireld’s place in Tottenham’s starting line-up could now be under threat when he does return to Hotspur Way.
Spurs are next in action after the international break when they take on Watford.
