Arsenal are up into third place after beating Bournemouth.
Arsenal’s 1-0 win over Bournemouth moved the Gunners up into third place.
They had David Luiz to thank for scoring the winner, his first for the club since their summer move from Chelsea.
BBC pundit Garth Crooks says he cannot believe Arsenal are as high as third in the table.
He referenced their weak defence, which to their credit has shown signs of improvement lately.
Crooks said: “I cannot believe this Arsenal team are third in the table.
“I know we are only eight games into the Premier League season but their defence has been so bad, how is this possible?”
Crooks had picked David Luiz into his BBC Team of the Week.
Arsenal have conceded 11 Premier League goals this season.
That is only two more than Manchester City, and it is three fewer than Chelsea have allowed.
Arsenal have also kept two clean sheets in their opening Europa League matches.
Perhaps concerns over the Gunners’ backline are over blown?
Arsenal are third on merit, and teams like Tottenham and Manchester United are falling further away.
