Arsenal is the place to be right now for young players with stardom in their sights.
Ever since Unai Emery included Joe Willock and Reiss Nelson in the starting XI for the opening day Premier League win against Newcastle United, the next generation of young Guns have given the Arsenal supporters plenty to cheer. The kids are alright, it seems.
Nelson has returned from Hoffenheim a more mature player on and off the pitch and Willock has filled the Aaron Ramsey void with three goals already in 2019/20. Bukayo Saka, meanwhile, ripped Frankfurt’s defence apart in the Europa League and Gabriel Martinelli, the Brazilian wonderkid, has four goals in two starts in the famous red and white shirt.
And as long as Emery remains at the helm, Willock, Nelson, Saka and Martinelli, not to mention Emile Smith-Rowe and Ainsley Maitland-Niles, will get plenty of chances to prove that they belong at the top level.
So Karamoko Dembele has a lot to ponder as he mulls over a move which could make or break his entire career. According to TEAMtalk, Celtic’s 16-year-old wonderkid could potentially follow Kieran Tierney to the Emirates, despite only recently signing a new long-term contract with Neil Lennon’s Hoops.
Dembele was just 13 when he shot to fame while running rings around Celtic’s under 18 side and, three years on, he already has a senior appearance under his belt. The skilful winger is arguably the most exciting young talent to emerge north of the border in recent memory but whether he stays in Scotland is another matter entirely with James Forrest, Mikey Johnstone, Scott Sinclair, Maryan Shved, Mohamed Elyounoussi and Lewis Morgan all ahead of him in the pecking order.
That's without mentioning Daniel Arzani and Jonny Hayes.
Now, Emery is far from universally popular in North London but Saka, Martinelli and Willock have made great strides under the former Sevilla and PSG boss. The Spaniard is providing a pathway for the next generation and a move to Arsenal could potentially help Dembele make that leap from wonderkid to first-team star.
Or he could become the new Islam Feruz. Your move, Karamoko.
