Leeds United failed to build on their win against West Bromwich Albion in midweek on Saturday afternoon, as they lost against Millwall.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side got the better of West Brom 1-0 at Elland Road in the Championship on Tuesday evening.
The Whites were expected to win against Millwall, who are without a permanent manager at the moment following the departure of Neil Harris this week.
Leeds failed to win at The Den, as the home team picked up all three points from the encounter courtesy of a 2-1 victory.
The Whites suffered a blow as early as the 14th minute when Gaetano Berardi was sent off.
Jed Wallace scored from the penalty spot for Millwall on 16 minutes, and Tom Bradshaw doubled the advantage for the Lions on the stroke of half time.
Ezgjan Alioski halved the deficit for Leeds at the start of the second half, but the home team managed to pick up all there points from the encounter.
Jon Newsome was following the match for BBC Radio Leeds, and the former Leeds defender has given his take on the final result.
Newsome said on BBC Radio Leeds at full time on Saturday afternoon (4:59pm, October 5, 2019): “That second-half performance, it was one of those that I wished that they got something out of the game because that would have galvanised them even further, even more than what Tuesday night did.”
