Ryan Jack hobbled off during Rangers’ match in the Europa League last night.

Rangers boss Steven Gerrard has told the Daily Record that Ryan Jack has a problem.

Jack had to be taken off during Rangers match against Young Boys last night, which they lost 2-1.

The midfielder limped off for Rangers on the hour mark, and Steven Gerrard’s side missed his presence after he was withdrawn.

The severity of Jack’s injury is still not known, but Gerrard admits that he is fearful that it could be a bad one.

“He is getting assessed. There is certainly a problem there. I’m not sure whether it’s the back of the knee or the top of the calf,” Gerrard said.

“If he needs and image to get a better picture we will do that in the coming days. But there is definitely a problem there. How big is difficult to say.”

Rangers had taken the lead in Switzerland last night when Alfredo Morelos spun his marker and finished well, but they were unable to hold on.

James Tavernier was partly at fault for both goals which Rangers conceded on what was a disappointing night for Gerrard’s men.

Rangers did win their first game in Europe this season so a draw yesterday would have put them in a strong position to qualify, but the loss means that the group now looks very open.

Rangers are next in action at the weekend, when they take on Hamilton, and it seems unlikely that Jack will feature.
