Johan Mjallby has said on BT Sport that Cluj were lucky to finish last night's defeat by Celtic with all 11 men.

Goals from Odsonne Edouard and Mohamed Elyounoussi helped the Hoops to a 2-0 win over the Romanian side in the Europa League at Parkhead.

Cluj eliminated Celtic from Champions League qualifying in August and this always had the potential to be a fiery encounter - and there was evidence of this in the first half.

Scott Brown went to ground after a challenge from Damjan Djokovic, but television replays indicate that the Croatian midfielder landed an elbow on the Bhoys captain.

And Celtic legend Mjallby claims that Djokovic should have gone, claiming on BT Sport that it was 'stupid' from the opposition player.

He said: "I’m all for physical challenges but that’s stupid. That’s a straight red card."

Controversy aside, it was an excellent win for Neil Lennon's side, who now sit top of Group E after Rennes lost 2-1 at Lazio.

Cluj had beaten the Italian outfit in the previous round of fixtures - a reminder of the danger that Dan Petrescu's side posed, but Celtic were excellent value for their victory.
