A number of Aston Villa fans have taken to Twitter to give their thoughts on the Villa Park club's latest injury update ahead of their Premier League trip to Norwich City.

Speaking on Wednesday, Villa boss Dean Smith gave an update on the fitness of Matt Targett, Tyrone Mings, Jonathan Kodjia and James Chester.

Left-back Targett was substituted early in the second half of last weekend’s 2-2 draw with Burnley due to a suspected hamstring injury, while Mings suffered a shin knock late on in the game.

Kodjia, meanwhile, has been out with a fractured cheekbone, and recently had a mask fitted to his face as he steps up his return to full training, while Chester continues to build up his fitness and is set to get more minutes for the Under-23s.

“Matt Targett hasn’t trained yet since the weekend," Smith is quoted by the Birmingham Mail as saying. "But nothing showed up on the scan in terms of a hamstring issue, which is really pleasing. However, he certainly felt something so we’ve got be very cautious with him. But he will start training on Wednesday ready for the Norwich game.

“Jonathan Kodjia is training fully now with the mask on so we have people coming back from injury, which is good to see... (Chester) needs more minutes. We will get some more game time into him.”

Here is what some Villa fans said in response to the club's Twitter update:

Villa are currently 18th in the Premier League table with five points from seven fixtures, while the Canaries are a point and a place above the Villans in the standings.
