Arsenal are reportedly keen on midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai.

Liverpool avoided a major scare on Wednesday night as they beat Red Bull Salzburg 4-3 at Anfield, in a game which became a lot closer than they would have expected.

The Reds raced into a 3-0 lead in the first half, with Sadio Mane, Andrew Robertson and Mohamed Salah all finding the net, before Hwang Hee-chan pulled one back for Salzburg.

Liverpool were then rocked in the second half as Takumi Minamimo and Erling Braut Haaland scored to haul Salzburg level, meaning Liverpool’s three-goal lead had evaporated – but Salah struck again to seal all three points.

Jurgen Klopp had a real scare, and Salzburg again showed how talented their crop of young players are, and it’s not just goalscorers Hwang, Minamino and Haaland.

Midfielder Enock Mwepu impressed too, as did playmaker Dominik Szoboszlai, who is already attracting major interest after notching three goals and three assists this season.

The 18-year-old Hungarian is a target for a host of clubs, and one of those is Arsenal, with the Daily Mail claiming that the Gunners were scouting him in action at Anfield last night.

Arsenal fans unsurprisingly kept a close eye on Szoboszlai’s display against Liverpool, and many suggested that they want to see the Gunners sign him as he is the ‘real deal’.

Others said he was ‘incredible’ and needs to brought to North London as soon as possible, comparing him to Napoli midfielder Fabian Ruiz after a promising performance against Liverpool.
