Some Liverpool fans have been left massively disappointed by the performance of midfielder Jordan Henderson after tonight's 4-3 win against Salzburg at Anfield.

After defeat to Napoli on the opening matchday of the UEFA Champions League, tonight was a big opportunity for Jurgen Klopp's side to stamp their authority on the group.

They looked well on their way to doing that at half-time, coasting at 3-0.

However, a massive comeback from the Austrian champions ensured that the encounter became a much nervier affair, much to the frustration of supporters.

One of the most criticised performers was Henderson, whose midfield display left a lot to be desired. He was a yard short of his opponents early in the second half, misplacing passes and failing to protect his defensive line.

After the visitors equalised the match, Klopp quickly hauled him off to be replaced by James Milner.

The captain is ordinarily a massive favourite of the Liverpool boss, who has played him in the vast majority of their matches over the last couple of seasons.

Liverpool would go on to win the match thanks to the always reliable Mohamed Salah.

The reigning champions now sit second in Group E ahead of the remaining four fixtures.

For some, Henderson's performance stuck out regardless of victory, with these fans taking to social media to share their thoughts tonight...
